Arnie, it's pretty cold at that time. Winter clothes like down jacket, hat, scarf and goves are required. it is about 60 kilometers from Beijng to Badaling. The easiest way is to take no. 877 or 919 bus from Deshengmen to Badaling. It takes 1 to 1.5 hours.
