About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Will I require a visa for transit through China?

I am travelling from Russia (Moscow) to New Zealand (Auckland) via transit through Guangzhou on a Russian Passport. The maximum time I will spend in Guangzhou is 10 hours. However there are also two short stops of about 90 minutes in Wuhan (on the way to New Zealand) and Urumqi (on the way back to Russia).

Ivan, you are not eligible or 72 hours free transit in Guangzhou. However, I think you can take advantage of 24 hours free transit policy. When you stop in Wuhan at first, you should apply for a stay permit and then you won't have problem in landing at Guangzhou Airport. For your return trip, Urumqi should be the second stopping point. Where is your first arrival airport? You should apply for the stay permit at the first airport you arrive at and then fly to Urumqi to take flight for Russia.

You may contact Guangzhou Airport Immigration Inspection at 0086-20-81101991 to confirm this.
