Brian, CDMA, WCDMA and GSM modes can be used in China. It depends on which mode your cellphone supports.

Brian, you can use any GSM, CDMA or WCDMA phones to make calls to Spain. And there are three telecom operators in China, China Mobile (GSM and TD-SCDMA), China Unicom (WCDMA) and China Telecom (CDMA). If you have a cellphone that supports any mode I mentioned, you needn't buy a new one. First, figure out which mode your phone suppport and then buy a Chinese sim card to make international calls. If you insist on buying a new one, you may visit Gome or Suning Appliance Retail Shops in your area to buy a new one.
