Customs when picking my luggage

I am flying NYC-Beijing (Air China), then Beijing-Wuhan (Air China). Do I need to pick up my luggage to bring to Customs? Or, will my luggage be transferred to my Beijing-Wuhan flight?

I'm not sure if Wuhan has an international airport. If it does, you may not have to pick it up, but most likely you will.

I finally found the answer printed on the Air China website. On the Air China flight from NYC-Beijing-Wuhan, I will pick up my baggage in Beijing and go through customs. Then, I will check in my baggage for my Beijing-Wuhan flight. On the Air China flight from Wuhan-Beijing-NYC, I will not need to pick up my baggage in Beijing. I will pick up my baggage in NYC.
