About:Longji Rice Terraces

What time is the first and last bus from Yangshou to Dragons Backbone(DAZHI OR PING'AN-not sure which one yet).?

I don't care if it is the local bus or a tourist bus. I just want to get there as early as possible to hike and see as much as I can. then I wish to spend the night in DAZHI OR PING'AN, not sure which. Any ideas which is best? I want to see local cultures. Then I wish to hike to the other village and around to other villages before taking the LAST bust back to Yangshou. Again,I don't care which bus.
I am looking for the times of the buses? What is the earliest bus?
Where exactly do I catch it at?
Where do I catch the return bus at?
Do I need RESERVATIONS ???
If so,how can I arrange them?
How long will the bus take?
What are the costs for each segment?
If I need to transfer, please provide details.
I am going and coming back on September 17/18,2014.
Thank you very much for your help.

As I know, there is no direct bus from Yangshuo to Longji (Dragon Backbone) Terrace, so you have to transfer in Guilin. I suggest you take a bus at Yangshuo Bus Station Dacunmenbei branch to Guilin first.

I'd like to tell you that there are three entrances to the terrace: Dazhai, Ping'an and Longji villages. Well then, you can go to Guilin Qintan Bus Station to take a bus to Longsheng first. The earliest bus leaves 07:00-07:30. Upon getting to Longsheng, you can transfer to another bus to Dazhai or Ping'an. No need to book all the bus tickets in advance. Just buy the ticket on the spot.

Dazhai is recommended, because there are too may tourists in Ping-an and it has been very commercialized.

Go to Dazhai, spend the night in upper Dazhai village (there are several cheap hostels/hotels there) watch the sunrise, then hike to Ping-an village. From Pingan village walk down to the main road/bus stop and take a bus out of the terraces (back to the main Guiling-Longsheng road.) From there you can take a bus back to Guilin (but I dont know the times of the last buses.)
There are private minbuses back to Guilin from both Pingan and Dazhai but these are leave when they are full/when the driver is satisfied that he has enough money.
Also some of the hotels in Ping-an/Dazhai run their own shuttle buses from the terraces to Guilin. If you are leaving at the same time as other visitors you might be able to book a seat on one of these. Talk to the receptionist in your hotel.
