About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

US to Beijing -Hongkong - Beiging -US

I am planning to buy ticket from US to Beijing (Stay less than 72hr) fly to Hongkong. Week later fly back from hongkong to Beijing (stay for 48hr) and then back to USA.
Is this doable with free transit visas in both wys?
