About:Hong Kong MTR Tickets & Fares

is it possible for me to stay on macau for half day??

but my ticket is only from hong kong..

do i need to ride a ferry??

how about the visa??

is it still needed??

Yes, it is possible. You can easily catch a ferry at China Ferry Terminal or HK-Macau Ferry Terminal to Macao. And visa is not needed for your half day stay there. Don't worry!
