About:Chinese Consulate in Lagos

which visa type do i need to come to china with? is S1 available for husband?

My wife s working in china on Z. She can provide me with an invitation letter to apply for S1 and then switch it to residence.

Can chinese embassy in Nigeria issue S1 for me? if not, Which type do i need to apply for in nigeria and be able to switch it to residence?

Hi, you are eligible to apply for S1 type if your wife works in China. But the consular officers have the final say to your application.

Yes, you can apply for S1. You need to provide your passport with photocopy of its data page, application form with recent taken photo, invitation letter from your wife, a photocopy for your wife's passport & her stay permit and kinship certificate.

Yes, you need to notarize and authenticate the marriage certificate.
You need to prepare: one copy an original documents to be authenticated; one clearly completed Application Form; one copy of passport or ID of the applicant and an introduction letter to state clearly the purpose of the authentication and handle them to the embassy for authenticating.

Your can give a general date for your first entry, and put 365 days for the longest intended stay if you want to get S1 type. You can contact the embassy directly and make an appointment first for application. Actually, consular officers have the final say to your application based on supporting documents you submitted. If your S1 was refused, you may be able to get a S2 type, which is extendable when you are in China.

how to request a duration of stay according to the correct supporting documents

The 1 year residence and Work Permit of my wife expires on January,23,2015. I am applying for S1 type because i want to stay long term with my wife.

-What should i request in 2.4 and 2.5 of the application form?
2.4 Date of my first entry
2.5 my longest intended stay

-When is the deadline of submitting the documents and application form to the embassy? Today is July,11.2014.

Knowing that S1 is given for a stay more than 6 months,do i still have correct time to apply? If no more than 6 months left to the expiry date of my wife residence, will i still be granted S1?

Please must the marriage certificate be notarized and authenticated when applying for the visa S1 in the Chinese embassy in Nigeria or only when used in China to get the residence permit?

Please is it correct that the marriage certificate registered in Nigeria does not need to be notarized and authenticated when applying for the S1 at the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria?

And that it must be notarized and authenticated only when it is used in China for the application of the residence permit?
