what are the requirements for applying china tourist visa?

My Chinese friend wants me to visit him in Shanghai and stay there  for 3 months, what are the requirements for applying the tourist L and how long will it take? It's not my first time because I've been in china for several times when I was working in Macau before and I have a multi - entry sticker in my old passport

Hi, an invitation letter from your Chinese friend is required. Also you should provide the original and copy of your previous one for application. The regular processing takes 4 working days from the embassy
