About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Asked by Joseph from Canada; 72-hour Visa-free Tramsit to Shanghai

I am going to fly from Vancouver to Shanghai on Sept. 3rd to take a cruise sailing from Shanghai to Singapore the same day. Am I eligible for the 72-hour free Transit ? If yes, how can I obtain the permitting document and where, it is in Vancouver or upon arrival at Pudong Airport ?

No, this free transit is for direct transit by air only. You have to apply for a Chinese transit G type in advance through CVASC.
