Traveling to Beijing (with layover in Qingdao) then leave China, 24 hours or 72 hours without Visa?

Beijing says 72 hours but other regions have other times. Do the destination (Beijing, 72 hours) count or the layover (Qingdao, 24 hours)?

If you transit in Qingdao less than 24 hours, you will not be asked to apply one in advance.

To clarify and confirm; Travel without Chinese visa like this should be fine:
(1.) Travel from South Korea -> Qingdao, 3 hour layover there, then see (2.)
(2.) Qingdao -> Beijing, 70 hours in Beijing, then (3.)
(3.) Beijing -> Philippines.
We will be in Qingdao shorter than 24 hours and Beijing shorter than 72 hours, but China in total longer than 72 hours (70 hours + 3 hours + some flight time).
Other destinations is not a problem, just interested if the above is fine in China (because it is somewhat unclear with the different regions).

Based on your detail information, you need to apply for a transit G type for transfering. If your flight stops over via Qingdao, you can not avail the 72 hour free transit. But if the total stay is less than 24hours, you can just apply for a stay permit after landing at the first airport.
