Guiyang-Xi'an-Shanghai train and a Hua Shan climbing :)

Hi, I'll be travelling from Guiyang (Guizhou) to Xi'an around 11th of August. Could you please tell me how long the trip takes (there are many different info on websites) and which class would be the best (I want to travel both cheap and quite comfortable, so I'm considering a hard sleeper).
When in Xi'an, I'm planning to climb a Hua Shan, is it better to get near the mountain by train or by bus?
Thanks in advance for all the answers :)

it takes almost 23 hours. i also think a hard sleeper is cheap and comfortable.
the bus to Mt. Huashan leaves from Xian Railway Station, which is close to the town.
the train to Mt. Huashan leaves from Xian North Railway Station, which is far from the town but can be reached by subway line 2. i think train is better as it is fast.
