About:China Work Visa

Work Visa 2-year experience requirement or TESOL Certificate?

I recently applied for and was given the contract for a teaching job in Jingjiang, Jiangsu Province. They are currently looking into the documentation needed for a work permit in Jingjiang, but I have an issue. In one city I applied for, they denied me because I had less than 2 years teaching experience. This was prior to my obtaining a TESOL Certificate, which I was recently rewarded and is being mailed to me. I have been told by many schools that you can have either a Bachelor's degree and 2 years or more experience or a TEFL/TESOL certificate. Is this true? I've only had 6 months of previous teaching experience in China prior to graduation, so it would really suck to do all this work and still not get into China.

Hi, you are required to hold a BA Degree or higher, and TESOL certificate in order to be issued a working Z. 2 Years post graduate work experience (in any field) is required - If you don't have it, just ask help from any companies where you worked part-time for a letter saying you worked at their company for a period of longer than 2 years.

Ok, this may present a problem. I had a bit of trouble at a previous teaching job in China and I doubt they'd provide a letter lying for me to return to the country. Also, most of my other work has been for internships and a sculptor, not much professional work.

My friend put down that she taught for two years in another country. This was accepted because they really don't check out your CV.
