About:China Visa Application in UK

We have been advised that we require a double entry visa.Do we have to make two separate applications or does our itinerary cover this?

Hello. My husband and I are cruising the far east later this year and enter China on 2 separate occasions. We finish the cruise in China followed by a 5 day land tour in China. Thank you
