How many years can Z-visa converted to working and resident work in china

Pls I'd like to know the maximun year a foreign expat can stay and work in China legally. My working Z had been converted to resident permit with all the other papers needed to work in china obtained smoothly but How many years will my working Z not be allowed to renew?
I came into china 2012, can i stay up to seven or more years?
