About:Shaolin Temple

Visit Shaolin temple

If I come from Xian to visit that temple, Longmen grottoes and White Horse temple, which nearest train station should I arrive in? Is it Luoyang train station or Luoyang Longmen train station? Which place should I visit first. Where do I leave my luggage? I will stay one night and which budget hotel I can stay.
Which train station in Luoyang to take train to Taiyuan? I will go to Mt Wutai in Taiyuan.

Oh, I recommend you take a bullet train at Xian North Train Station to Luoyang Longmen Train Station. Upon getting there, take local bus no. 67 or 71 to Longmen Grottoes for a visit. After visiting, you may consider staying overnight nearby and also see the night view of the grottoes. I know there is a budget hotel named Maidi First Hotel just around 200 meters from the grottoes for your reference. It is 麦地第一家宾馆 in Chinese. In the next day, go to take local bus no. 81 to Luoyang Train Station, near which you are advised to get on bus no. 56 to the White Horse Temple. After visiting that, take the same bus back to Luoyang Train Station to walk to the nearby bus station to catch a direct bus to Shaolin Temple.


For luggage issue, you can put it in a hotel near the grottoes on the first day and for the next day travel, it is best to store it at Luoyang Train Station. There you can also catch a train to Taiyuan, but two trains are in operation daily, so you'd better book the tickets in advance.
