China Visit visa issue- Family of 3 adults - me and my spouse working in Qatar, son studying in India

Hi, We are a family of 3 adults, would like to visit China - Beijing and Hong kong in late Sept or Oct beginning. Can you please advise the visa formalities for China and Beijing and from where I can get these. My family is long time resident of Qatar, me and my spouse working here and our son studies in India. He will be on three weeks leave in July'14. Can I complete the visa formalities in July for our travel in Sept/Oct'14?

We would like to visit mainly great wall of china and Hongkong. I will be grateful if you could advise how I can make this 8-10 days trip memorable. Since we are in the beginning stage, we are open to advise and can change our plans accordingly. Thanks a lot in advance. Regards, Jay, Doha-Qatar

If you have an 8 day trip, you can spend four days in HK and another four days in Beijing.

If you have around 10 days, you can stay in HK for about three days in HK, three days to four days in Beijing and the rest of time can be spend in Xian to see the Terro Cotta Army.

In HK, the Peak, the Npong Ping 360, the Ocean Park, the Victorial Bay, the Repulse Bay are suggested worth seeing. For Beijing, the Forbidden City, the Tiananmen area, the Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven are worth seeing besides the Great Wall. For the Great Wall, it is suggested to go to the Mutianyu Section.

For the visa issue, you can apply a tourism visa from EMBASSY OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA IN THE STATE OF QATAR with your round trip tickets, hotel booking orders and your working or living provement.
For your son, he can apply for a tourism visa from CVASC in India with his studying provement.
