About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

2 different airlines; do I qualify for Visa Free Transit?

Hi:

I would like to book a Thai Airways flight from Bangkok to Beijing in May 2015 and stay at a hotel for 3 nights.

Then fly from Beijing to the USA on a separately booked Cathay flight (67 hours between flights).

I have a US passport with a double entry Thai Visa.

Do I qualify for free Transit?

Thanks for reading,

Peter
