About:Chinese Greetings

email greeting and salutation

My company is looking to expand to purchasing materials/items directly from China. Certainly the respondents are accustomed to western style email, however, I would like to demonstrate my level of sincerity with a proper greeting and salutation for email correspondence without implying I understand or speak Chinese. Is this something typically done in business-type email? Would I use characters or pinyin?

Thank you.

Aaron, I don't think you need to add Pinyin or characters in the business type emails. To my understanding, they are much more formal than ordinary ones. If you add characters or Pinyin in your emails, your emails look informal. If your Chinese partners do business with foreigners before, they may get used to the formal business letters or emails. Just my view.
