Is there still any cormorant fishing going on in Tongli - and are they active year-round?

I'm planning to take the family to Shanghai in early January, and I'm interested in watching cormorant fishing in Tongli (no Guilin on the itinerary this time). However, I am not sure whether there is still any fisherman/woman in that practice and whether they are active in winter time too. And what time of the day are they doing it? Are there any day-tours from Shanghai that will look at that? Or would you recommend I find my own way onto TL?

In winter, you can still see the cormorant fishing on the river. The show time is always in the morning or at noon, but the exact time is not fixed. You are suggested to ask when you were there.

Tours to TL can be easily find in SH and you can ask the hotel you live in to help you to arrange one. But in my opinion, you had better go there on your own.
