Either Z20 (19:55 - 07:01) or T44 (19:00 - 08:29) leaving from Xian railway station is ok for your return trip to Beijing.
If you go Xian by high-speed train, you will arrive at Xian North Railway Station. To get to the Terracotta Warriors, you have two options:
take the free shuttle bus from the the station to the Terracotta Warrior site. You will be required to show your train ticket of the day and an entrance ticket to any attraction in Lintong District where the Terracotta Warrior site is located (you can purchase the ticket to the Terracotta Warrior site at the tourism service center on the underground floor in the station). the bus runs hourly from 08:00 to 16:00. But i heard that the bus only runs at weekends and during holidays (not sure), so you may consult the people at the tourism service center after your arrival. it takes 1 hour to reach the site by the shuttle bus.
If there is no free shuttle bus, you can take bus No. 266 (CNY1 or2, and you'd better prepare some one Yuan notes or coins) to the last stop, Xian Railway Station, and take a tourist bus No.5 (306), a greyish-green large bus to the site. the tourist bus fare is CNY 7 per person. It takes 2 hours from the north station to the site.
From Beijing to Xian: CNY824.5/US$133 for first class and CNY515.5/US$84 for second class.
from Xian to Beijing by soft sleeper: CNY440.5/US$72 per person.
entrance fee of the site: CNY150/US$24 per person.
