About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Is it possible to get two visas at the same time?

I have a two-months internship (July-August) and then I start a semester in Nanjing University (September). I do not have time to leave the country and apply again: is it possible to apply for one (M) and then for another one (X) without having used the first one? Or is there a way to apply for both at the same time?

No, you can only hold one at a time. It is possible to change it to X2 type within China if you have documents from the university, for example, the admission letter.
