Taxi problem in shanghai

The last time I arrived from PVG using the Maglev train I had trouble getting a taxi as the taxi queue was no longer operating. The taxi drivers did not want to use meters and were charging outrageous amounts to take us to our hotel.

I am thinking of taking a cab from the airport because of this.

Has there been any improvement lately? Thanks!

This situation has improved a lot, but you cannot guarantee all the drivers abide by the rule. Anyway, taxis of Dazhong and Qiangsheng taxi companies are more trustworthy.

Good to hear! Does that mean they put the queue back? I never take the red taxis, actually. But that is good advice for most travellers!

Thanks
