About:China Family Reunion Visa

How to renew or convert Q2?

My Chinese wife is a US citizen and our 4 year old daughter is on custodial visa in China with mother in law. I just applied for a Q1 5 year but was only granted a 180 day Q2. Can I renew this in China without returning to US? Can I convert to a 5 year Residency Permit in China once I'm there?

Can I convert this visa to a 5 year Q1 once in China as an option? Advice?

Yes you can keep renewing it, just have to keep going in and out and back to the PSB and the longer you stay the more of the chance you can get a Q1 in the PSB, the officer can't grant a Q1 unless you or your family has a long history in China.

Hi, you can extend your Q2 when you are in China. But it is hard to get it converted in to Q1 type or residence permit in the begining. Anyway, it depends on your financial capability actually or your wife's instead.

Bob I don't know if you read the post correctly, it said his wife is a U.S citizen, not a Chinese.
