About:Guangzhou Travel Guide

Where is the Dragon Boat Festival in the Guangzhou area? Can you get there via the subway/metro?

What would you recommend for transportation to the festival near GZ? Subway, taxi, a paid tour company etc.? We are not very good with bus schedules. We are close to the Hanxi Changlong station. If we were to take a taxi where would we tell them to take us? We have 5 children so we would have to take two taxi's and that is not the best option for us because we do not want to be left off in two different locations especially in a very crowded area.

You can enjoy the great Dragon Boat activities at Tangxiayong and Chepiyong in Tianhe District for the festival (from May 27 to the following 19 days according to the news). Besides, on June 7, International Dragon Boat Invitational Race will be held on the Pearl River between GZ Bridge and Haiyin Bridge.

If yuo don't wanna share two taxis, you can ask your hotel to arrange you a van to hold you all and the cost will be more than taxi. And I don't think metro is a good way to go as you have five kids.

Thanks for your reply. The location is helpful. Our children have no problem going on the subway even during peak hours so if you know how to get there via the subway that would still be helpful. Thanks again, Mary
