About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

72 hour transit: Outgoing:MAN>AMS>XMN>MNL Return:MNL>XMN>PEK>AMS>MAN

My outgoing flight goes through Xiamen and I have a 10 hour stopover here. Xiamen is not listed in the places to run the 72-visa free transit program so what would I need to do to be allowed exit the airport?

On my return flight I have a 10 hour stopover in Beijing but first land for 1 hour in Xiamen. Although Beijing does run the 72 hour waiver program I am aware you are not allowed to land in another Chinese city first. What do I need to apply for to be allowed to exit the airport and explore Beijing?

Also would I need to apply for one tourist visa L (the two flights are 3 weeks apart) or a double entry? What process should I follow?

Many thanks in advance.

For the outgoing itinerary with a stopover in Xiamen, you enjoy free transit becuase the stopover is less than 24 hours. Althouh your return trip stops in two cities in China, but you still enjoy free transit because you will not stay for longer than 24 hours in China. What you have to do is to apply for a free stay permit after arrival at the airport. Or, you can just apply for a single entry transit G type for this visit.
