About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

Do I need a visa for China and requirment

I am going to Shanghai on business arriving on June 21 at 1140PM leaving for Tokyo on June 23 at 520PM.

Hi, it is not required if you fly from USA to Japan via Shanghai with a stopover less than 72 hours. That means you enjoy free transit in Shanghai if you have the ticket leaving within 72 hours from Shanghai to Tokyo.
