sunrise at danxia

Question

Hi :) We're thinking of getting the train from Lanzhou to Zhangye at 9.45pm or 10pm which arrives at 3.23 am or 4.30am the following morning. How easy is it to get a private car to the rainbow mountains, to catch the sunrise, at that time in the morning? Do you know if there'd be cars available from the station at that time of day?Also, are the mountains more impressive at sunrise or sunset?!Thanks!

You can still find local taxis at when you arrive, but there are not so many as that in the day time. For private cars, it may be hard to get one. In my opinion, you can negotiate with the taxi driver and ask them to take you to the rainbow mountain and usually, the negotiation will be successful. Or you can order a pick-up service to that the rainbow mountain from a tour agency. In this way, it is asured that there is a car waiting for you when you arrive. I did not see the sunrise, but I think the sunset is very beautiful and perfect. I heard from other people that most of them thought the sunset is more beautiful than the sunrise.
