About:Gubeikou Great Wall

Which village to stay around Gubeikou segment of Great Wall?

In October we travel to China, I would like to plan our trip avoiding big cities. From airport I would like to go directly to a village next to thw section of wall. Do I have to go to down town of Beijing to catch a bus, or I can go to a village straight from airport? Any advise for my accommodation/village is welcome.

Oh, you have to go back to the city to transfer. By airport express train, you can go to Dongzhimen. Then walk to Dongzhimen Long-distance Bus Station, take a bus to Miyun county. Then rent a car or take a minibus to the wall.

I know there is a Union Hostel (Tuanyuan Kezhan) near the exit of Gubeikou village. Besides, you can easily find a farmer home to stay near the wall.
