About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

transit in chenddu

I intend to fly KLM from Amsterdam to Chengdu for 72 hours and then depart Chengdu via Guangzhou on China Southern on a booked connecting flight to Australia.
The Guangzhou connection is 2 hours changing planes.
Can I use the transit visa for this.

No, you have to apply for a Chinese transit G for this visit. Because the 72 hour free transit only applies to direct transit via one eligible city only in China.
