how to purchase subway tickets in Shanghai

How i can buy subway tickets from east nanjing road to oriental pearl TV tower ? The ticket counter official know english ? Do they have change of 100 RMB note ?
I will be not travelling much in subway, so is it ok, if i dont buy public transport card ?
Taxi drivers will give change of 100 RMB note ? in our country, i can get 100 RMB notes only in currency exchange.

The subway ticket can be purchased at the ticket vending machines in the subway stations from East Nanjing Road Station. The machines have both Chinese and English directions, so you can use it easily. 100RMB is accepted.

It is OK without a public card. Many people and travelers in that city have public card.
Taxi drivers will give changes of 100RMB note, of course. So take it easy to travel in SH and have a nice trip!
