About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

Having a 1 day stop of Shanghai on a cruise out of Japan, do I need to provide a passport photo with my Chinese Visa application?

If you just transit in Shanghai less than 24 hours and then leave on the same ship, you won't need apply for any type in advance. 24 hours free transit is ok.
