About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

domestic flight in between international flights within 72 hour period

I´m flying from Manila to Xiamen and same day further to Beijing. The following day I´ll continue to Amsterdam. Do I need a visum for the domestic flight from Xiamen to Beijing? If not, can I use the 72 hour visa free transit for visiting Beijing?

No, the 72 hour free transit is only for direct transit via one eligible city in China. Your itinerary does not apply to it. But if your total stay in China is less than 24 hours, you still enjoy free transit but make sure to apply for a stay permit after arrival at Xiamen Airport. But if not, you have to apply for a Chinese transit G visa in advance.
