Hong Kong - Beijing - Quebec (Canada)

Hi, I'll be in Hong Kong on 11th and I plan to go back home after that, so I tried to get a flight from HK to Beijing and Beijing to Quebec 72 hours later (with different companies), although I cannot complete the reservation through Internet. What do I do? Can I still take my flight from Beijing to Quebec and simply go from HK to Beijing by bus or train? Since the online reservation asks my passport number, I think that they see that I don't have any visa, so they don't go through??

No, this free transit only applies to direct air transit. It can not be obtained if you will take bus or train. Anyway, flight tickets from HK to Beijing and Beijing to Quebec within 72 hours are ok to avail this free transit permit.
