i want to go hong kong from guangzhou, which way is easier?

1) Guangzhou to Kowloon by bullet rail or Guangzhou to Shenzen then go through Lo Wu ?2) Train ticket from Guangzhou to Kowloon can be purchased on the spot or have to buy in advance?Thanks

Obviously the direct train from Guangzhou to Hong Kong is much easier. The tickets can be purchased either in advance or on the spot, but if you travel during the high season, I suggest you book in advance.
