About:China Family Reunion Visa

About Q2 extension

hi my Jeffery and wife is chinese and we married for one year now. we plan to move to my country cuz any time we go to renew my Q2 the only renew for 1 month. But my wife is the only duather of her parents. she don't wanna leave the two innocent old parents alone.
What should i do to get a long time one to stay and help my wife take care of my in laws?

Hi, I have to say that the extension of Q type depends on the financial support of your wife or her parents. The officers make the final decision so they want to see, for example, a bank statement with enough money to support your stay without work.

Not in all aspect the financial aspect is a factor, their are many spouses that they just avail a short period of Q2 despite having a bulk amount in their bank accounts. And some PSB officer even don't bother to ask the financial documents. Maybe as you and your wife just married for 1 year that is why they given you a shorter period, or maybe when you ask the PSB for renewal try to request the maximum time which is 6 months for Q2
