Degree required for Work Permit Application?

Hi. Is it a must to have a degree in order to get my work permit approved? What are my chances of getting my work permit approved without having a degree? I have already secured a job with a company and will be based in Shanghai.

Yes, at least a BA degree is required for application of a work permit. It is reasonable as this is how the government protect their own citizen. You can confirm this with the company if necessary.

my friend has similar issue before he found a local law firm to help the paperwork. I think he finally solved the problem with other document to replace his degree certificate.

Hi all, just thought I'd update on my work permit/ z application process for those who are in the same situation. My company managed to appeal for me and got it approved(took an extra month)! And according to an employment agency, if the company is a reliable company in China and really want you to work with them, they will push for your application.
