About:Dual Nationality

Baby to be born in China. Chinese Mother, British Father.

Hi, My Chinese wife will give birth to our baby in China. She is then going to apply for a UK Spouse Visa. Will the Baby also need a Visa or just a Passport? Will the baby be able to stay in the Uk as long as the mother does? Many Thanks

After your baby was born, he or she can choose join either Chinese nationality or UK nationality.

If he or she choose to join the UK nationality, he or she can go back to UK after he get a UK passport. For staying in China, he or she needs a Chinese visa and the duration in China depends on the visa type.
