About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

My flight is Vancouver, Canada -> Shanghai Pudong -> Taipei, Taiwan, possible to enjoy the 72-hour visa free policy?

I am scheduled to arrive on a Friday at 4:35pm and depart on the following Monday at 4:00pm. If I calculated this correctly, I am JUST under 72 hours!
I have a valid Canadian passport as well as a valid Taiwanese passport to enter Taiwan.
Am I eligible for this visa-free permit?
I was planning on leaving the airport to stay with a friend during the 72 hour period.

Thanks!

Yes, you can use this free transit in Shanghai without problem. If you plan to stay with your friend, make sure to register your friend's address with the local police station within 24 hours after entry.
