About:Marriage Registration in China

I am a Singapore Chinese 63 years and my girlfriend 27 years is from Nanchang, Jiangxi

We had bought an apartment in Nanchang and we had already planned to be married.
She is now 3 months pregnant and we are expecting to have twin babies expected due sometime in October 2014.

I am married in 1971 but I am separated since 1998 (approximate 16 years now).
I had made application for a divorce through Singapore Court.
This will be made for hearing on 15.5.2014 and the divorce decree will only be officially completed sometime September.

1.What should I do ??
2.Does she need a marriage certificate to have the babies born in China, the hospital is asking for this now to continue treatment ??
3.Before I can finalize my marriage in Nanchang, can I register the babies birth certificate before my marriage ??

Please help, I am very lost.

To get married with your Chinese GF, you must show your single certificate or divorce certificate. However, no marriage certificate is needed to born a baby in China, so they won't refuse to have the treatment. Don't worry!

After your baby birth, the hospital will give you the baby birth certificate. I heard the ID proof of his or her parents are enough!

Anyway, for the sake of your girl and baby, just forward your divorce matters as soon as possible in case!

Thanks for your response and information.
My girl told me that she already contacted the local authority in Nanchang Jiangxi.
They had advised that permission must be obtained so that the babies (in my case) can be registered.
Can you highlite me on what is this.

Thanks Nick.

Hi, as I know, you have to show marriage certificate and then apply for “准生证”the permission.

Thank you for your response with appreciation.

I know is very difficult and I only afraid that my divorce paper maybe release by our court after the babies are born.
In such case what should I do, I am worry that the hospital may not accept my GF access to treatment.

And also not getting the Consent to Child Birth Permission.

Is there any way round it.

Trust your view on this matters.
