Do I need a medical check to apply for Chinese Z Visa?

Hi, I am applying for a Z type from the UK. I can't see any requirements to have a medical check completed or any vaccinations done. (My future employers said I will have a health check in China for the work permit anyway, so perhaps that covers it?!) Would you be able to clarify if this is needed or not? Many thanks!

Emma, you do have to take a physical examination when you apply for the Z type. The form can be downloaded from the website of Chinese embassy and you need to do the examination at qualified or appointed hospital. When you have tyour Z type successfully, you can enter China and change it into temporary resident permit within 30 days. When you apply for the permit, you are required to do a health check again.

Thanks so much for getting back to me!

This leaves me slightly worried because I called the Chinese Consulet in Manchester who told me I don't need a medical check to apply!? But thanks, I will download the form definitely just incase he gave me the wrong information.

All the best
Emma
