hong kong visa processing time

we are planning a trip (7days) from us to hong kong. We applied for it at consulate of china in houston. It has been 4 weeks since we submitted all the documents but we have not heard anything about it. Our trip is coming on May, the hotel and air ticket are nonrefundable. How can i get it on time or can i get my passport back? Can we pay more for the express service? I contact with hong kong immigrate by email but did not get answer. Came to ask chinese people at consulate in houston but they say no thing they can do for that? Please help us

Hi, as I know, it is possible to check status online through the website of HK immigration department.

Hi there, same problem here ..... the Chinese Embassy here in Luxembourg made a mistake and then delay with my application and now I am waiting for the call, kind of stuck. Next week weekend I have a flight to HK and now without a visa I cannot go. My flight is booked non refundable (except if I proof I am sick and a doctor inscription is needed for this). It is ridiculous if the Embassy has to communicate with HK for this. They can email or fax for cheap and fast solution.
I am making pressure in the Embassy and also communicating with the HK immigration, hopefully I will get it within a week. Otherwise, my vacation is in vain because of this it will be ruined if I don't get visa on time :')
Btw, I need it and I am a permanent residence of Luxembourg.
