About:Yu Garden

how long does it take to get to Yuyuan Garden from Portman hotel in Shanghai by sightseeing bus?

I will be traveling with 2 other people in october. Is that a good time to visit SH?

Where do you get on the sightseeing bus? As I know, there is no stop of the sightseeing bus near your hotel. You may need to go to the People's Square or Middle Huaihai Road area to board the sightseeing bus.
From the Middle Huaihai Road to Yuyuan, there is about 2km, but costs around 30 to 40 minutes by sightseeing bus. From People's Square, it takes about 18 to 20 minutes by sightseeing bus.

In my opinion, it is suggested to take local subway lines to Yuyuan directly.

October is a great time for visiting SH.
