C-PAP Machine for Sleep Apnea Medical Condition

Can I carry-on a C-PAP medical machine on a flight from San Francisco to Hong Kong and will it count as my one carry-on baggage?

I am sure that you can bring that machine into China. But I don't know if you can carry it in your carry-on luggage. You may ask your airline about this.
