About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

Do I need to apply for a study visa or will it be ok for me to apply for a L type?

I have an Australian passport. I wish to travel to Bejing in early June to do a 4 week Chinese language course for my personal development. After finishing the course in early July I will travel to Shanghai to undertake a two week study at Fudan University (officially organised with a Melbourne University). Are all L types issued for at least 3 months? Thank you for your help. KR

The X type requires your admission letter to the university or school in PRC. I don't think you will get the admission letter from the language course development organization. So I think L type is ok. The duration for L type is usually 30 days. It's enough for you to end your language training. Afterwards, you can apply for the extension. Or it will be better if you can apply for a double entry one successfully.
