About:China Student Visa

Text Body is Wrong- Please Update!

You CAN in fact work on an X1 visa; every place on the Web seems to say that you can't. You'll need an annotation to your Residency Permit.
People have in fact been working LEGALLY on X all along- before it was up to the school to push it through for you (and up to their discretion). I don't the exact procedure now, but take heart learners- it's legal on an X1.

Hi, thanks for sharing this here, but how can you handle this annotation to your residence permit?

I'm currently trying to figure that out, but short of asking a lawyer it's hard to find the right documentation in Chinese from the correct Chinese authorities.
My guess is that if you bring that printed documentation along with the url to your school and your PSB you'll be able to do it. It's official after all. Your PSB should then ask the regional office how to do (if its their first time). I'm sure it's very important to get the information in Chinese.
I'm also trying to figure out if you can get the annotation as an add-on to the permit or if you can only get it at issuance. I would guess the former to be true, but in any case I'm sure you can still work on your X 1 visa the old fashioned way (with your school's permission). Finally, permission from your school is not necessary with the new revision, but your school and PSB probably won't know that yet.
