About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can we get the 72 hour visa free transit on arrival in Beijing?

We are travelling this December through Air China from London-Beijing-Manila-Beijing-London. Our itinerary says that our connecting flight is on the same day. If we want to use the 72 hour free transit, do we need to amend/re-book our outward bound flight i.e. Beijing-Manila for us to use this free transit? or do we need to inform the airline once we check in with them?

There is no need for you to rebook your air tickets. Also you don't have to inform the airline that you plan to apply for 72 hours free transit. After you land at the airport, you just follow the signs and complete the procedure on your own. It's easy.

Many thanks for your response. If this is the case how about our luggage? Does Air China will be able to take out our luggage en-route to Manila (bear in mind that label in the luggage will show MNL and not PEK which is Beijing)?

Hi, do you mean your stopover in Beijing is less than 24 hours? if yes, you just need to handle free stay permit after arrival at the airport. You do not need to collect your luggage as well.
