looking for besteconomical way to get to shanghai

is it more economical  to fly from Kuala Lumpur into Shenzhen and then take internal flight to SH and then take internal flights or train to other cities

Hi, Isobel. I am not very clear why you fly to shenzhen and then to SH. As I know, there is direct flight from Kuala Lumpur to SH directly and the flight ticket is not so high comparing to the ticket fare from Kuala Lumpur to Shenzhen. You may cost more if you go to Shenzhen and then SH. I suggest you to fly to SH and take trains to other cities.
