About:Chinese Consulate in New York

HK PASSPORT RENEWAL FOR OVER 18 APPLICANT

What are the things will I need to bring in order to submit application on the same day I visit the consulate? Also, after I completed application, how long will it take and can it be mailed to me, or pickup only at consulate? Thanks for your time!

You need to fill application form (Form ID 843), provide three recent colour photographs with white background, Hong Kong permanent identity card, and your current HK SAR passport.
The processing takes 4-8 weeks and you need to pick it up from Chinese consulate.

Yes, they will keep your passport during processing.
