How much american ginseng can i bring in?

I have 10 lbs of American (Wisconsin) ginseng and was hoping to purchase about 5-10 more pounds. I purchased these in bulk from American farmer, and they are to be for 1 lb. gifts to my future in-laws (father-, mother-, sisters, aunts and uncles). Do I need to pay any taxes or duties on these. I will pack in freezer bags and label for each person with their name (in English).

If you bring more than 2000 RMB ginseng, you should declare to the customs and will be asked to pay the tax.
